Excited about finding an old picture of her mother with a high school friend, Phoebe convinces the gang to go to the beach for the weekend so that she can visit the woman and find out about her parents. Ross's new girlfriend, Bonnie shows up after saying she wouldn't be able to make it, much to the disgust of Rachel. Constant rain keeps the friends indoors, playing 'Strip Happy Days.'
George finds out that his severance pay will last him 3 months, enough to pay for a relaxing summer of no work. Jerry is invited to the Tony Awards, and Kramer sneaks into the event. He sits in Raquel Welch's seat and has to accept an award for her. Elaine comments that a co-worker walks like a stiff, and her co-workers hopes that it will cause a cat fight.
Season Finale. Mark, still recovering from the attack, vents his emotions in a violent fit in the break room and buys a gun for protection. Carter decides his future lies in emergency medicine, not surgery, and tries to convince an irate Anspaugh likewise. There is friction between Drs. Ross and Del Amico after Doug discharges one of Anna's patients, but the two work together when a severely beaten Charlie is brought to the ER. Benton's son strengthens. Doug and Carol share a kiss. Jeanie and Al are back together.
