The gang receive some valuable information from old enemy Anya who has actually witnessed an Ascension. She reveals that the Mayor plans to transform himself into pure demon, something that has not been seen for thousands of years. When Angel is poisoned by Faith to distract Buffy, Buffy faces Faith for the final time in order to get the only cure to the poison: Faith's blood.
On their twentieth wedding anniversary, Hank and Peggy get depressed about all their unfulfilled dreams. After getting drunk and passing out, they decide to try something exciting: skydiving. Meanwhile, Cotton's wife Didi goes into labor and Bobby has to drive her to the hospital, and Luanne tries to remain at home without Hank and Peggy finding out she's there.
With Harm's eyesight fixed, Harm decides to go ahead and submit a request to be transferred to a fighter squadron. When Lt.Cmdr Parker finds his written request, she is upset at the prospect of Harm being gone for months at a time.
Mike is tested when Nikki is out sick and the mayor hires his ex, Heidi Klum, to help publicize the new animal rights campaign. Meanwhile, the mayor and Paul try to inject some humor into their press conferences. When Mike accidentally tells Nikki that even though Heidi came onto him, he had feelings for her and still turned her down, she walks out.
After a Beastie Boys Heads concert at Madison Cube Garden, Bender goes on a bender and gets hooked on power surges. His life begins a downward spiral until he finds salvation at the Temple of Robotology. Having found religion, his polite behavior becomes so irritating to his friends that they begin to tempt him with his old vices. When he finally succumbs and returns to his old ways, he is banished to Robot Hell where, in a musical extravaganza, he faces the Robot Devil and endures tortures unimaginable to man.
