A Romulan delegation has arrived at Deep Space Nine. In exchange for using their cloaking device on the Defiant, the Romulans were offered access to all information about the Dominion. Before the delegation arrives, Chief O'Brien suffers from a plasma explosion. The radiation that he was exposed to begins to send him into the future where he see what happens to his eventual self.
Stardate: Unknown Tom Paris is found guilty of murder by the courts of an unknown planet - and his punishment is to relive the crime from the victim's point of view every 14 hours for the rest of his life. Janeway is convinced of his innocence, but the mental implant in Paris' brain prevents him from remembering what really happened.
Logan is traumatized by a phobia from his past involving his late father and fire. Mitch discovers that his late father was actually proud of his career as a lifeguard.
