After their lackluster attempt at kissing, Mike (guest-star Jeremy Lelliot) and Lucy agree to be friends and to fix each other up on dates - but the plan bothers Lucy more than she anticipated. Meanwhile, Matt's in a huff over John and Robbie's newfound friendship and feels slighted by the family. Eric also continues to feel alienated from his family when they keep going to Annie for advice. Also, Annie feels slighted when Ruthie plays an un-funny joke when the twins recognize her as their "mama".

He doesn't want to say goodbye to Ally, who suffers with his departure. Larry promises to return. Meanwhile, Nelle is representing her dance instructor/lover Sam Adams in court. He's suing his ex-partner for stealing his dance moves. Cindy McCauliff returns to the office looking for Richard. (S)He wants to marry a man, but after the court denies it Richard offers to perform the ceremony at the office.
Two young and good looking spear fishermen, Ronnie and Eric, get into trouble when Eric accidentally shoots while Ronnie is in front of him. Ronnie's hand is pinned to the coral reef. Meanwhile, Sam (the adrenaline rushing pilot from Dangerous Games) has come back into Leigh's life. He has been sending her post cards and calling her. Carrie thinks Leigh's crazy for not going for him. Suddenly, Sam shows up behind them. He wants Leigh to date him again. Their reverie is interrupted by Eric's cries for help. The trio immediately spring into action. Eric has now been caught in the fishing line and is also in trouble. Using their best efforts and ingenuity, the trio is able to save Eric and Ronnie. Ronnie is taken to the hospital.
Doug becomes jealous when Carrie makes the mistake of telling him she finds Deacon attractive; The gang go paintballing to celebrate Deacon's birthday, which turns into a war of jealousy.
Its a tricky night for the otter ward staff when a young nurse takes it apon herself to take part in a round of the ward with possible tragic concequences. Victoria manages the situation and gets her first "well done " from her boss Janice Talyor.
